If I had followed the traditional path, recording and producing this album of all-new songs could have easily cost me over $250,000. I’ve spent plenty of time around successful artists and in high-end studios, where the process of bringing creative ideas to life is both exhilarating and maddening. But everything has changed in the age of AI – even the music industry.

I wrote the lyrics and music for every song on this album. Some are brand new, while others I UnCovered sitting in a box or on hard drives for more than 30 years. Some tracks started as a simple demo – usually just my voice and a guitar. I uploaded these rough takes into an AI music engine, and, like magic, it transformed them into full-fledged productions, keeping my original melodies and lyrics intact.

The real magic, though, is in the prompting. I had long, detailed conversations with AI, generating more than one hundred versions of some songs before arriving at the sound I had in mind. I’m genuinely blown away by the results.

There were no session musicians. No backup singers. But out of respect for the creative process, I gave each AI-generated voice a name.
