My first network-startup, the Fox Sports produced TVG Network was so successful, SNL Kagan valued it at $3 Billion by the end of my third year as Vice President and General Manager. Building TVG was a lot of work, from hiring the 75 or so production and editorial staffers, auditioning and ultimately adding 12 on-air hosts and racing experts, and creating 12-hours of daily “live” programming. That was all accomplished in a matter of just three months. The network provides “live” horseracing from race tracks around the world – and viewers are able to bet on the races right from their remote.
If you’re looking to start up a cable or digital network, I’m the guy to head up the editorial side. I’ve got a team behind me who I can bring on depending on your needs. Here is a behind-the-scenes video I produced just after TVG got on the air – giving you an idea of what went into this network start-up.
TRAINER/CONSULTANT/COACH
I can get your staff trained and up to speed for TV or new media news gathering projects. I’ve produced more than 15,000 hours of live news programming – so I’m well versed in getting a staff of people to work together as a team.
PILOTS, PROGRAMS AND SIZZLES
As Head of Television for the legendary Merv Griffin, I’ve developed, produced, pitched and sold dozens of reality, game and court shows to the major networks. Along with that, I’ve shot and produced sizzles and pilot episodes for series in locations from Manhattan to Maui. My clients include everyone from British Royalty to Australian’s richest billionaire – from sports stars to rock stars – from people in this dimension, to ghosts and spirits from beyond. If you’ve got a funded project and need a showrunner or other editorial support, Let’s talk. (Please note I only work on projects that have financing in place.)
